I want to introduce you to Towana Phillip, accessory and handbag designer and owner of To’sha. Towana & I met 10 years ago downtown Brooklyn and her style stopped me in my tracks. After speaking to her, I discovered that she made everything she was wearing. We exchanged numbers, and have been friends every since. Towana mixes her skills of knitting with leather and other different materials. Her designs are edgy, colorful, and unique, which makes her one of a kind. Towana is warm, friendly, and sees to it that her clients are always satisfied. Earlier this year, Towana was recently nominated by Black Designers News Network (BDNN) as an “up and coming handbag designer” at Fashion Groups International Rising Star Award luncheon. Her bags were also featured on the latest Project Runway finale during Mercedes Benz fashion week with finalist Kimberly Goldson designs.
