While at a Woman in Music (WIM) event, I met Chi-town designer Ms. Alicia Piller, whose jewelry immediately stopped me in my tracks. Alicia now calls New York City home and she is emerging as one of the city’s most innovative designers. Her hand made pieces incorporates a mixture of suede, semi precious-stones, as well as beads and will no doubt add a dramatic appeal to your jewelry collection. This multi-cultural beauty pulls inspiration from her background in Fine Arts and Anthropology to produce her spectacular line, which feature eye-catching pieces ranging from one-of-a kind necklaces to small earrings. Alicia’s work has appeared in NY Times Style, NY Magazine, and numerous fashion shows. This will prove to be yet another successful year f or the young designer, as her creations will be featured in the new Tyler Perry movie “Good Deeds”. I had the opportunity to interview Alicia P. in her Brooklyn store; at the DeKalb Market- check it out in THE VAULT.
